Where is the Ötztal?

The Ötztal lies in the West of Austria, in the province of Tirol. It is a southern side-valley of the Inntal.

From the West:

From Vorarlberg to Tirol past the Arlberg pass or through the Arlberg tunnel (S16) - Landeck -  Autobahn A12 - exit: Ötztal - B186 (35km) towards Umhausen-Niederthai

From the East:

From Munich or Salzburg on the A93 to Kufstein, then along the A12 autobahn past Innsbruck to Ötztal, then along the B186 to Umhausen-Niederthai.

From the South:

From Merano in the Southern Tirol across the Timmelsjoch on the B186 to Umhausen-Niederthai in the Ötztal. ATTENTION: high-alpine road to an altitude of almost 2,500m, border crossing open from early June to mid-/late October, toll road.

From the North:

Bad Tölz - Achenpass - B181 - Jenbach - A12 autobahn - exit: Ötztal - B186 (35km).
Pfronten - Reutte - Fernpass - Imst -  A12 autobahn - exit: Ötztal or B171 to Ötztal (without toll sticker) .
Garmisch Partenkirchen - Ehrwald - Lermoos - Fernpass - Imst - A12 autobahn - exit: Ötztal or B171 to Ötztal (without toll sticker).
Garmisch Partenkichen - Mittenwald - Scharnitz - Seefeld - Telfs - A12 autobahn - exit: Ötztal or B171 -  B186 (35km)
