Welcome to the Ötztal. We’re so happy to have you here! We are Melanie and Alexander, our twin daughters Lena and Laura, and our son Samuel. We love summer and winter alike, mountains and nature, and our guests can feel our enthusiasm for these.

Here in the heart of the Ötztal, in Umhausen, we have three holiday homes and a chalet that all combine modern comfort with traditional Tirolean living. It was Alexander’s parents, Hildegard and Gebhard Waldhart, who laid the foundations for our family business with their Haus Tirol bed and breakfast in the 1970s. Today, after years of changes and renovations carried out by my husband, we are proud to be your hosts.

For us, true holiday happiness begins when we go up into the mountains. You can feel yourself getting closer to nature with every step, getting back to basics. Finding yourself. You reclaim your sense of serenity, which has got lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Hardly any other valley offers as much mountain bliss as Tirol’s longest side valley, the Ötztal. 203 peaks over 3,000 metres above sea level and countless lower ones. And all of them are just waiting for you to discover them.

Thanks to its perfect location in the heart of the Ötztal Nature Park, Umhausen is the ideal starting point for countless activities across the entire valley, especially for mountain enthusiasts and nature lovers. The valley’s top 6 ski resorts and hiking areas can be easily reached in just a few minutes using the free bus service or by private car, as can many leisure attractions, such as the Aqua Dome.
And since happiness is often found closer to home, you will find the largest waterfall in Tirol, the Stuibenfall, the Ötzidorf, the Birds of Prey Park, a bathing lake and a Kneipp facility right here in Umhausen, all just a 10-minute walk away from our apartments.
Our holiday homes and apartments are situated on the southern outskirts of Umhausen. The bus stop for the free bus is just a 1-minute walk away, and the bakery, M-Preis supermarket and Hofer discount supermarket, as well as various restaurants, are also within walking distance.
To ensure that our younger guests also have a great holiday when the weather is not so good, you will find a toy box or a games room in each of our holiday homes, and as a little extra, our Erlebnisstodl with a bouldering area, AirTrack mat and creative room for arts and crafts is in the immediate vicinity of all our holiday houses. There is so much more to discover, but come and see it all for yourself!
If you want to enjoy sporting challenges, culinary delights and magical moments spent in nature with friends, we’ve got the perfect place for you. Because the Ferienhaus Tirol, Ferienhaus Ban Brösign, Landhaus Waldhart and Chalet Waldhart can be booked exclusively, making them ideal for both smaller and larger groups of 8 to 18 people. You can look forward to spending quality time together and sharing adventures.
We also give a warm welcome to your four-legged family members at our holiday homes and apartments. Due to the increased cleaning requirements, we charge €15 per pet per day (on request, excluding food). The only accommodation in which dogs are not allowed is the chalet.
As regional focus is important to us, you will find delicious farm products, such as bacon and sausages, milk and dairy products, fresh eggs and much more at the farm shop Christl’s Hofladen, which belongs to the mum and grandma of our family, in the district of Östen, just 1 km from our holiday homes and apartments.

At Christl’s Hofladen, run by the mum and grandma of our family, located in the Östen district, just 1km from our holiday homes and apartments, you can purchase authentic culinary delights from the Ötztal and sample delicious farm products. Your tastebuds are in for a treat: bacon and sausages, milk and dairy products, such as yoghurt and quark, fresh eggs, syrup and apple juice, homemade jams and honey, pasta and potatoes, fruit and vegetables and on Fridays, homemade bread all await you. Regional, seasonal, genuinely good. This is what’s important to us.
How to get there?
The best way is to follow the B186 main road out of the valley from Umhausen towards Östen. Turn right into the country lane before the bus stop in Östen. After around 200 m, you will reach the Frischmann family farm and their self-service farm shop.

Delicious farm products, such as bacon, homemade sausages, cheese, dairy products, eggs and freshly baked bread are also available from the market stall in front of the M-Preis supermarket right here in Umhausen. Just stop by and sample the delicious delights. Open every Friday from 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
